Plot

Dominic West as Richard Croft

Richard Croft (Domnic west) is a rich deceased archaeologist who researched about Queen Himiko of Yamatai. He was long beleived to be dead by all including his daughter Laura Croft (Alicia Vikander) untill it was relieved by his pre recorded documents in his abandoned office room. Laura found these documents due to some legal disputes and sets her way to the island which once beleived to be Yamatai to find her father.

 She was accompanied by Lu Ren (Daniel Wu) whom she met at Hongkong. Their ship was wrecked by a strom. Laura was revived by Mathias Vogel (Walton Goggins) who is a head of a group of people called 'Trinity' who were also on their way to find the tomb of Himiko (It is beleived by them that Himiko have power over life and death) but ultimately she was hostaged by them inorder to find the tomb.

Wheter she found her father and escaped from her legal dispute and also wheter she escaped from trinities is the climax of 'TOMB RAIDER'

Tomb raider character Laura Croft played by Alicia Vikender & Angelina Jolie

It's a reboot of 2003 tomb raider movie series (2movies) in which Laura Croft character was played by Angelina Joulie. Alicia Vikendar created somewhat the same impact created by angelina but not succesfull as angelina. More adventureous scenes were present in this movie along with great CGI work except in one scene which I don't want to relieve due to spoiler , Moreover it is not so lagging point of movie because already screenplay is a big lagg in the movie. But otherwise it is a good movie. It contains many puzzle related scenes , but the answer for the puzzles are highly predictable . It has some scenes to praise like scene in which alicia tries to escape from walton and rushes into a old crashed plane which breaks due to her own weight. Apart from action it showed the relationship between a father and a daughter. Alicia expressed a high degree of acting. I can say that you people can watch the movie atleast for hard work of Alicia vikander. We will be definetly astonished by her beast level of dedication in screen.

No actors can have a great scope in this movie , may be Domnic West performance is nice. The greatest mistake of the movie is it's highly predictable storyline. Hence it affects the screenplay and thus the movie.

I know that the movie is adaptation of a video game which i have never played. My friend who used to be a addict to that game found this movie awesome. So i felt that may be fan of previous movies of tomb raider and video games fans could love the movie.

My view

Tomb Raider (2018) suffers the same problem as The Mummy (2017) , both are reboots of very popular movie series which were higgest grossing movies of their time (Tomb Raider (2003) & The Mummy (1999)). These movies have already fullfilled their fans expectation so eventhough the rebooted movies are somewhat good it doesn't stand above their predeccesor movies. In this case The Mummy (2017) was also lagged the same screenplay. So there must be good pre-production works before taking up reboots of famous movies.
